The MI40 Muscle Building Program is the brainchild of professional bodybuilder Ben Pakulski and its aim is too teach you how to double your muscle gains in just 40 days. This is my honest MI40 review of the program and the personal results I have achieved so far with this system.

You probably won´t look like this after doing MI40 but you can make a tremendous change to your physique in only 40 days using this program.

The reason that the program is centered around the number 40 is that from a scientific perspective the number 40 has a significant correlation with how to build up muscle fast

40 days – has been proven to be the most optimal amount of time to adapt to any new training program

40 minute workouts – is the ideal time to train before cortisol levels start to rise too much and threaten muscle recovery and growth

My Experience and Results with MI40

The claims laid out by this program sounded pretty hyped to me so when I first heard about it coming out I was intrigued to find out more. After contacting the creator and his partner Vince Delmonte I was given the opportunity to be part of a 30 man test group  that were given a copy of the workouts , a meal plan and some other information regarding the strategies to work through the program and provide some feedback before the program went live. Just for the record this was not a full copy but a just a restricted version of the program.

As you can see from the photos I gained muscle all over my physique but especially on my back and Chest. Here are my full exact results

Although I didn´t gain much weight the extra that I managed add was actually muscle as you can see I have put on size in every muscle group. Although I am very happy with these results I do think they could have been better. This is mainly because I had trouble sticking with the diet. This is not because the plan I had was complicated it is just that I was not organised enough to ensure every day I was eating the right level of calories and nutrients.

Also due to a lack of planning I didn´t follow the carb cycling strategy that was part of the diet plan and because there was no real information regarding supplements with the copy I received I only used a whey protein supplement for 4 weeks of the program. Therefore I do believe that if I had stuck to the diet plan and strategy more closely and maybe extra supplementation correctly I do believe me results would have been better in terms of muscle growth and fat loss.

However what this does show is that if you are going to invest in this program make sure that you are ready to be organised in terms of your diet and time so that you get optimal results.

What I liked about MI40

I really enjoyed the workouts although they were really tough. They are both physically and mentally challenging and I must admit after the first week and almost throwing up a couple of times I didn´t think I would last. However once you get over the initial shock they become really addictive and I found myself raring to get to the gym every day which I have not had for a long time. Also the pump and buzz after each workout when you really go for it is incredible and just seeing your body transform is fantastic reward for the effort.

Furthermore I love the fact you don´t have to lift heavy to get the results. After 20 years training and being in my forties now (42 in Jan) I want to preserve my joints and reduce inflammation. Before when I was trying to lift heavier and heavier my body kept breaking down and it was very frustrating and De-motivating and probably why I stayed away from full on bodybuilding for many years. However apart from the initial muscle soreness from the workouts (which has gone now) I don,t have any joint pain and my body feels less stiff although I did focus on doing a lot of stretching after and between workouts. I am now fully converted back to this style of training and can´t wait to progress further

What I didn´t like about MI40

The only issue I can see with this program is that it consumes a lot of time and energy so if you have a very busy lifestyle then you may struggle to stick fully with the program. Don´t get me wrong I have been training long enough to realise that you have to work hard for kind of decent results but if you are not prepared to integrate this system into your life and apply it fully you will struggle to get the results you desire. Even though I struggled with fitting the diet in I never missed a workout even though this meant rearranging my schedule or training at times when I really didn´t want to. Remember incredible results come from incredible efforts so think about how much you are ready to give before taking this program on.

Who is MI40 for

Let me say straight off that this program is not for everybody. If you are a total beginner then in my opinion this program is a little too advanced at this moment. I would advise you start with a program such as No Nonsense muscle building then when you have gone through that and got results come back and give the MI40 a try.

However if you have a certain level of experience (6-12 months) and are comfortable with using weights and understand training concepts and variables this is a great program to blast your way to a new level.

As I have stated MI40 is hard…. really hard. The workouts are very intensive and take a big effort both mentally and physically so you really need to bring your A game to the gym and be ready to work butt off.

This is not a laid back approach to muscle building so if you are not sure whether you have the drive and focus to make this work then go elsewhere for now.

 In summary

If you are ready to actually learn something about your body and be ready to trust in information that may be new to you then MI40 could be the game changer for your physique development. This is cutting edge scientific approach to training and nutrition that requires your total commitment while leaving your old ideas and ego out of the gym. I absolutely loved doing this program and it has rekindled my love of bodybuilding which was my first love when I started my fitness journey over 20 years ago. Personally I don´t want to look like a bodybuilder but what I do want is too have a physique that is both healthy, functional and impressive and this is what MI40 has given me.

Whatever your goal if you are ready to do what it takes no matter what then MI40 will give you all the tools you need to change your body and your life FOREVER.
